Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how ViajAI (the “App”, “we”) collects, uses and protects your personal information when you use our mobile application and related services. By using ViajAI you accept the practices described in this document.
1. Controller and contact
The data controller is ViajAI (Chile). For any privacy inquiry, write to us at soporte@viajai.cl.
2. Data we collect
- Account data: email address and name, through our authentication provider (Supabase). If you use Sign in with Apple, you may hide your real email and we will receive an Apple relay address.
- Trip data: destinations, dates, preferences and itineraries you create or that the App generates for you.
- Group data: travel group memberships and link invitations you send or accept.
- Expenses and budgets: amounts, descriptions and expense splits you record (in Chilean pesos or another currency).
- Wallet documents: documents you choose to store (passport, tickets, bookings, insurance). They are stored solely to provide the wallet feature and are only accessible from your account.
- Notifications: a device token to send you push notifications, only if you allow them.
- Location: your approximate location, only if you grant permission and only while using the App, to show you nearby activities and places. You can revoke the permission at any time in your phone settings.
3. AI processing
To generate itineraries and recommendations, we send your trip parameters (destination, dates, preferences) to a third-party large language model provider (Groq, Inc.). This information is used solely to generate your itinerary and is not used to train models. We recommend not including sensitive personal data in free-text fields.

When you open a flight or hotel search, we take you to partner sites that have their own privacy policies. ViajAI may earn a commission for bookings completed on those sites; this does not affect the price you pay.
5. Purposes and legal basis
We process your data to: (a) provide the service you request (performance of contract): account, itineraries, groups, expenses and wallet; (b) optional features that require your consent: location and notifications; and (c) keep the service secure and working (legitimate interest).
6. Retention and deletion
We keep your data while your account is active. You can delete your account from the App (Profile → Delete account) or by writing to us; doing so removes your personal data, trips, expenses and stored documents, except what we must keep for legal obligations.
7. Security
We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data: encrypted transmission (HTTPS), per-account access control and storage with providers holding industry-standard security certifications. No system is 100% infallible; if we detect an incident affecting your data, we will notify you.
8. Your rights
Under Chilean Law No. 19.628 on the Protection of Private Life and its successor regulations, you may exercise your rights of access, rectification, cancellation and objection. If you are in the European Economic Area, we honor the equivalent GDPR rights (access, rectification, erasure, portability, restriction and objection). Write to soporte@viajai.cl and we will respond promptly.
9. Children
ViajAI is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us to delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. If a change is significant, we will notify you in the App or by email. The date of the latest update appears at the top of this page.
